AMAR APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE
Maytag Washer Repair in Surrey
Maytag top-load and front-load washing machine repair for Surrey and the surrounding cities

Modern Maytag washers, the Bravos and Centennial top-loaders, the MVW series, and the Maxima and MHW front-loaders, share their engineering with Whirlpool. That is good news for parts and for diagnosis, because the same fault codes and the same wear points show up again and again. Amar Appliance Repair services Maytag washers across Surrey and the surrounding cities.
Maytag error codes and what they usually mean
Summarized from Maytag owner manuals. Newer machines show a two-part code such as F5 E2; older models use letters or a single F-number.
- F5 E2, F5 E3: the lid or door lock will not lock or unlock.
- F7 E1: basket speed sensor or motor drive fault, often the shifter and actuator on top-loaders.
- F8 E1, LF: long fill. Taps, hoses, screens, inlet valve, or low pressure.
- F9 E1, Ld: long drain. Drain pump, filter, hose.
- F0 E2, Sd: excess suds.
- F0 E5, uL: unbalanced load.
- oL: overload.
- F1 E1, F1 E2: main control board or motor control fault.
- F3 E1: water level pressure sensor.
- F6 E2, F6 E3: communication error between boards.
- F21, F02 (front-load): long drain.
- F20 (front-load): no water detected.
- F22, dL, dU (front-load): door lock fault.
- F11 (front-load): control communication.
- F51: motor rotor position sensor.
- F35, SUD (front-load): pressure sensor or suds.
Symptoms without a code
Fills but will not agitate or spin
On top-loaders the shifter and actuator, the splutch, a worn drive belt, or the motor and its control board. The lid lock has to pass its check before anything moves.
Will not drain
Drain pump, a sock in the pump housing, or a blocked hose. On front-loaders the pump filter is behind the lower front panel.
Loud spin, banging, or the machine walks
Suspension rods and springs on top-loaders; shock absorbers, bearings and the spider on front-loaders.
Leaks
Inlet valves, the tub-to-pump hose, the drain pump, or the front-load door boot.
Lid lock light flashing, will not start
The lid lock assembly, the lid striker, or the control board that reads it.
Clothes still soaked at the end
A drain problem, a failed spin, or an unbalanced-load protection routine that quietly skipped the final spin.
Before you call
- Redistribute the load and run a rinse-and-spin.
- Check that the drain hose is not pushed too far into the standpipe.
- Clean the pump filter on front-load models.
- Write down the code and the model number from the lid or door frame.
